After years of student lobbying, the Asian American Resource and Cultural Center (AARCC) opened Spring 2005 to support the needs of Asian Americans at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC).

AARCC offers social, cultural, and educational programs that promote knowledge on Asian Americans. Our co-curricular programs enhance the UIC experience and provide opportunities for integrated learning and development

Individual Consultation – personal support and guidance on a variety of Asian American issues including academic, cultural, and professional concerns.
Advising for Organizations – support and consultation for campus Asian American organizations on matters related to event coordination, organizational issues, and leadership development.
Consultation – consultation for UIC administrators, faculty, and staff, campus offices and academic departments regarding policies, practices, programs, and activities that serve Asian Americans.
Presentations – workshops, trainings, and presentations for classes, organizations, and other offices to provide education for and about Asian Americans.

In addition, AARCC offers social, cultural, and educational programs that promote knowledge of and foster engagement with issues relating to Asian Americans and Asian American studies. Our co-curricular programs enhance the UIC experience and provide opportunities for integrated learning and development. We collaborate and consult with other campus units to ensure that the needs of Asian American students are met. In line with the Great Cities Commitment, AARCC cultivates connections between UIC and Chicago’s Asian American communities, serving as a resource for the campus to engage with off-campus Asian American organizations. AARCC is open to all members of the UIC campus and the surrounding community who have an interest in issues relevant to Asian Americans.

CAN engages the UIC community on issues related to safety and gender-based violence (sexual assault, domestic/dating violence, stalking, sexual harassment, and family violence).

We provide free, confidential advocacy to UIC students, faculty, and staff who have experienced violence, and we lead programs to educate the community about these topics.

We welcome community members of all genders, sexualities, and racial identities.

The Native American Support Program (NASP) is a unit of Student Affairs at the University of Illinois at Chicago. NASP is dedicated to promoting academic success and achievement for all students, especially those of Native American, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, and Native Pacific Islander ethnicity, culture, community, and heritage. The mission of NASP is to assist students in achieving their academic goals, increase student minority admissions and retention rates, and engage and inform the Chicago community of indigenous cultures by providing academic and career coaching, cultural relevant activities, and creating a safe and supportive space for indigenous student concerns.

The School of Theatre & Music provides innovative, rigorous, and comprehensive academic and performance programs as part of our diverse, urban context. Our programs develop practical knowledge, cultural sensitivity, intellectual resourcefulness, and imaginative daring in emerging artists and scholars. We connect students to Chicago's abundant, vibrant theatre culture and to the city's dynamic jazz and classical music networks

We have nine music ensembles open to non-majors for credit (or simply for fun!). They perform a huge variety of repertoire, from established classics to world premieres, all over Chicago. Students enjoy individual attention in small classes, and the opportunity to work on up to four mainstage productions, as well as a number of student productions, each year. Every year, we present four mainstage theatre productions and more than 50 concerts. All of our performances are open to the public!
