It's the most wonderful (stressful) time of the year! Here's what's happening in Chicagoland and around campus this month at UIC!

Things to Do in Chicagoland this Month

  • Ice Skating at the McCormick Tribune Ice Rink: Whether you're an expert skater or a beginner, head to Millennium Park for fun, casual ice skating on the iconic McCormick Tribune Ice Rink! Open daily from November 15th to February 2nd. Admission is free!
  • ZooLights at the Lincoln Park Zoo: Another seasonal event hosted at the Lincoln Park Zoo, this light show is a great destination for family friendly winter fun! Make sure to check out the link above to find out their open hours; select Mondays are free admission!
  • Illumination at Morton Arboretum: If you're close to Lisle or willing to take a trip to the suburbs, don't miss the fantastic festive light show at Morton Arboretum! Experience a walk through the breathtaking park grounds of the Arboretum, with colorful lights, music, and warm beverages. This event runs daily from 4:30pm to 9:30pm from November 16th to January 4th.

2025 Commuter T-Shirt Design Contest

Want a chance to see your design on our COCL team t-shirts? Fill out this Google Form to submit your design and enter it into the competition. The winner will have their design printed on the 2025 COCL t-shirts, as well as recieve a free shirt! Make sure to submit your design by January 13th. The winner will be contacted by January 17th.

Important Locker Info

  • If you have rented a semester locker, it must be cleaned out by January 13th at 4:00pm!
  • If you want to reserve a semester locker for the Spring 2025 semester, you can do so online by clicking here or going to our website. New semester lockers will be available to reserve starting January 6th at 10:00am, so make sure to get in there and reserve your locker before they run out!

Finals Week and Winter Break Hours

  • The CSRC will be open at our regular hours during finals week.
  • We will be closed for winter break, from December 16th to January 13th.

What's Happening on Campus this Month?

Late Night Breakfast

Manage your finals week stress with free food provided by the Center for Student Involvement! Come by the Illinois Room in Student Center east from 9:00pm to 11:00pm on December 9th for a free late night breakfast, and make sure to click the image above and register before attending!

Campus Blood Drive

If you're able and want to give back to your community in a meaningful way, come by the Sport and Fitness Center on December 6th from 9:00am to 3:00pm to participate in the Campus Blood Drive! Make sure to eat well, stay hydrated, and bring your ID. Appointments are recommended, but walk-ins are welcome! Click on image for more event details and instructions for booking appointments.

Doggypalooza

Want to hang out with some dogs on campus? Of course you do! Stop by the Mac Gym on December 9th from 12:00pm to 2:00pm for Doggypalooza! Click on the image for more event details coming soon.

The Commuter Student Resource Center is going Eco Friendly and will no longer be providing plastic utensils to students.

However, we will be giving out reusable utensil kits at the front desk. of the commuter student resource center. So get yours today while supplies last.
