Little Village READS is a literacy initiative that pairs reading tutors with 1st through 3rd-grade students in the Little Village community. All of the students have been referred by their teachers for extra help outside the classroom. Tutors read with students and help lead fun activities that relate to the subject of the day's book.

Summer programming runs from June 22nd to August 13th. Volunteers can come in from either 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM or 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM. Programming runs Mondays through Thursdays. We are looking for volunteers who are able to commit to at least one day a week for the duration of summer programming. We recruit volunteers on a rolling basis.

If you are interested in being a tutor, we would love to hear from you! This is an excellent opportunity to gain some hands-on experience working with a fantastic group of kids. For any questions or to receive more information, please contact Jennie at jsharkey@eriehouse.org or register and we will make sure to reach out to you.
