Our mission is to foster a vibrant and supportive community for African graduate students at the University of Illinois, Chicago. We are committed to promoting academic excellence, professional development, and cultural enrichment among our members. Through academic support, career-building opportunities, and the celebration of African cultures, we aim to empower our members to excel in their academic pursuits and prepare them for impactful careers. Additionally, we advocate for the unique needs and concerns of African graduate students and actively engage in community service and collaborative initiatives. Our association seeks to promote cross-cultural understanding, facilitate networking, and advance African scholarship, contributing to a diverse and inclusive academic environment that values and celebrates the richness of Africa's heritage and contributions to the world.

Mission
Our mission is to provide support and community to Black Women at UIC who are pursuing a career in medicine. We want to provide a space to highlight important matters in Black women’s health while also connecting the Black pre-med women around campus, to be able share resources and guidance.
We seek to serve mainly Black women, but all students are welcome to join
Its values lie in representation, mentorship, and advocacy. These empower Black women in medicine while advancing health equity and improving care for underserved communities. Representation allows for Black women who are pre-med to have a space where they can communicate with other Black women in the same field, and know that they are not alone in their journey. The mentorship we will provide will give students guidance on how to approach their pre-med journey, and expose them to many different avenues they could pursue. With these goals in mind we will advocate for all of the Black women pursuing medicine on campus by ensuring they have access to any resources that they will need to facilitate their pre-med journey.
