The mission of Alpha Epsilon Pi is to provide education, resources and training to the future leaders of the world’s Jewish communities. This mission is demonstrated every day through acts of brotherhood, Tzedakah (charity), social awareness and support for Jewish communities and Israel.

Alpha Epsilon Pi was founded to provide opportunities for the Jewish college man seeking the best possible college and fraternity experience. We have maintained the integrity of our purpose by strengthening our ties to the Jewish community and serving as a link between high school and career.

Our heritage stems from one source: young Jewish men banding together in allegiance. The fraternity can be a home away from home, providing the same stabilizing and guiding values that students previously gained from their families. Jewish students search out Alpha Epsilon Pi because it is a Jewish fraternity. Since our founding in 1913, more than 102,000 men have worn the badge of Alpha Epsilon Pi and each year, thousands of undergraduates perform the Ritual of Initiation, which remains the same ritual adopted decades ago.

Perhaps of greater importance, Alpha Epsilon Pi provides education, resources and training to develop leadership for the future of the Jewish community. Tomorrow’s Jewish leaders are in our chapters today. These are the young men who must be counted upon to support Jewish causes and to prepare to be one of tomorrow’s Jewish leaders, so that they may aid themselves, their family, their community and their people.

Throughout our history, the fraternity setting has served as a “learning laboratory,” a testing ground for young men who later become leaders in business, education, government, religion and science. A goal of our fraternity is to help each student to develop character, responsibility and a proper set of values through living together in brotherhood. Alpha Epsilon Pi prepares young men for their role in life as responsible citizens.

Therefore, our basic purpose is to provide the opportunity for a Jewish man to be able to join a Jewish organization whose purpose is not specifically religious, but rather social and cultural in nature. Alpha Epsilon Pi is a Jewish fraternity and brotherhood in Alpha Epsilon Pi is open to all who are willing to espouse its values and mission.

Alpha Phi Gamma emerged in the Fall of 1993 and became a reality on February 1, 1994, as
the first Asian American Interest Sorority on the campus of California State Polytechnic
University, Pomona. The Founders were Allex Choi, Candy Cunanan, Christine Nguyen, Sandie
Rillera, Kolleen Kim, Grace Hsieh and Jennifer Oku. These Sisters wanted to bring together all
women of different nationalities through the bonds of friendship and sisterhood. The sorority
was established to promote service and Asian Awareness to the University and to the
community, allowing for all the different nationalities to discover what other cultures had to offer.
As with the beginning of any organization, Alpha Phi Gamma has started to grow in order to be
able to have a strong impact in the future. Since 1993, our Sisterhood bonds have grown
internally and formed foundations in California, Illinois, Missouri, Arizona, New York, Kansas,
Michigan, Colorado, Nevada, and Minnesota. Seeing our Sisterhood grow over the years is
exciting, but more important is that Alpha Phi Gamma has been able to maintain our values and
bonds across all our schools. As we continue to grow our Sisters will continue to uphold the
values and bonds of our Sisterhood all women of different nationalities, in our communities and
universities.

Chi Sigma Tau is the first Asian American interest fraternity to have been founded in the Midwest. We establish lifelong brotherhood, develop leadership skills, institute a mentor program for the younger members, promote Asian awareness by bringing a voice to the Asian American community on campus, and work to expand our unique style of brotherhood to other campuses. Although we were founded as an Asian interest fraternity, Chi Sigma Tau is non-exclusive and openly welcomes potential members from all walks of life. We are all like-minded people and strive to achieve the same goals: graduate, expand the fraternity, and develop our leadership capabilities - in essence, to become better rounded men with honor, integrity and selflessness. Our members take a life-long pledge of loyalty to the Fraternity. During the undergraduate years, members partake in numerous programs that culminate them into a more well rounded man - from a social aspects at formal functions to the business aspects of running an organization. Both will be vital to their success after graduation, members will work with fellow alumni to improve the collegiate chapters as well as their community. By doing so, they further foster their bond of brotherhood.

Chi Sigma Tau takes pride in being part of National APIDA Panhellenic Association, also known as NAPA. NAPA is a national insurance that includes different Asian interest fraternities and sororities that help these organization to better themselves and work together to advocate, collaborate, and educate ourselves for the members and community. NAPA supports the development of positive relations through open communication with interfraternal partners to enrich the fraternal experience.

The Fraternity has grown throughout the years; from a single chapter with ten original Brothers to nine strong chapters with over 400+ brothers. It continues to grow and evolve. As more chapters are established, more ideas are incorporated. As more Brothers are forged, the stronger the bond, the bigger the network.

Attend our recruitment events (usually we post these on our Instagram and/or send out emails). We recruit in both the Fall and Spring semesters.
Attend an informational session. In these sessions we talk to you about what being a sister includes requirements for members*, and hand out applications to those who are interested in applying.
Fill out the application and turn it in by the set due date.
If we feel like you are a good fit, we will reach out to you about setting up an interview to get to know you better.
A few days after the interview, you will be given a decision!
*Requirements for members:
UIC requires an overall GPA of at least 2.5 to join a sorority or fraternity
Must not be a graduating or transferring Senior

Tradition: Lambda Theta Alpha members have a hand sign and traditional call. LTA's do not step, but they do salute and stroll.
Saluting: Saluting is a tradition unique to Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. Saluting is a means by which members of an organization can praise a particular member within their organization or to honor the organization's past and current accomplishments. Members write a salute, and tend to include words of modern-day songs. Once they have the text, they proceed to add motions to the salute. Typically, if there is more than one person performing a salute, the members will synchronize their movements. Saluting symbolizes unity and respect.
Strolling or Party Walking: Strolling is a tradition that traces back to the inception of historically African American Greek organizations and is practiced by many organizations to this day. Members of a Greek organization line up one after another. Similar to saluting, they move forward in a line performing the same dance. Strolling exhibits unity and pride.
Academic Support: Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority Inc. was incorporated as an Academic Sorority in 1979. Scholarly excellence is our strongest mission. Each chapter has an Academic Chair to oversee the members' academic progress. The chapters host study skills workshops, time management workshops, study sessions and many other educational programs not only for the members but for the campus community as a whole.
Academic Incentives: Several chapters and areas within the sorority offer academic incentives for sisters who earn the highest grade point average and the sister who raises her GPA the most each semester. On a national level, the sorority provides several scholarships each year for outstanding academic achievement.
Regional Academic Incentives: The Board of Directors award a free entrance to a nationally sponsored event to the sisters with the highest grade point average within their region. Incentives are awarded each semester.
Educational Programs: Our chapters host seminars and bring speakers to present education programs for the benefit of the entire campus community.

Greetings, we are the brothers of Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Inc. of Alpha Chi Chapter at the University of Illinois at Chicago. We as brothers strive to promote and uplift the Latino community through community service, chivalry, and scholarship. We are the first nationally recognized Latino fraternity founded in the year 1975 at Kean College in Union, New Jersey.
