The American Society of Pharmacognosy (ASP) was founded to promote the growth and development of pharmacognosy, to provide the opportunity for association among students in the sciences, and to provide opportunities for presentation of research achievements. ASP supports scholarly effort and the dissemination of results in the broad, interdisciplinary world of pharmacognosy and associated natural product sciences; therefore, the establishment of student chapters will promote an interest in the science of natural products, as well as aid in the development of the next generation of pharmacognosists.

Our mission is to develop and implement the Global Brigades holistic model to meet the health and economic goals of communities across Central America and West Africa. The Global Brigades model systemically builds community ownership to empower a community to develop and permanently alleviate poverty sustainably. Our chapter will support new volunteers regardless of their background or financial status by promoting and providing virtual, international public health research opportunities.

Virtual Tele-Brigade volunteers actively participate in public health research to identify health challenges, assess market demand for in-home infrastructure solutions, and build a Community Health Action Plan. Virtual Tele-Brigades provide volunteers with the same learning outcomes as an in-person brigade, with more community impact and significantly reduced costs, including money, time away from school, and any carbon footprint.

This club is an excellent opportunity to be introduced to novels from various cultural, social, and political contexts to build a more global perspective on literature. All while engaging in fun and thought-provoking conversation with peers. The club will meet at least once a month and will center around discussing books read. In addition, club members will have the opportunity to write book reviews and commentary that can be posted on the club's blog. We aim to foster education and positivity around reading through donating and hosting book drives for students and faculty.

We are one of 280+ MSFC chapters all around the world! Founded by medical students in 1993 as a response to the almost complete deficit of abortion education in their medical training, Medical Students for Choice (a 501©3 non-profit) has filled a unique niche in the abortion rights movement. We work to ensure that medical students and trainees are educated about all aspects of reproductive health care, including abortion. With abortion training still lacking in medical school curricula, MSFC members organize to change institutional policies and broaden opportunities for all their fellow students to receive family planning education.

Notes to Share is a student volunteer group that aims to use live music performances to spread joy within vulnerable communities.

Performers have full autonomy in deciding the kind of music performed, and a variety of performances are welcomed ranging from soloists, duets, and even chamber music. After performing, members have the opportunity to interact with the audience-either teaching short lessons at the children's home or just building relationships and spending time with the elders in the nursing home. Ultimately, the organization gives members the platform to continue their love for music and share the beauty of music with people who may lack access to it.

The primary purpose of this organization is to provide medical students at UIC exposure to the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Many medical students may not be familiar with this growing field and it may be attractive to students who are also interested in orthopedics, neurology, and sports medicine. In addition, the rehab issues that physiatrists work with are relevant to internal medicine and a variety of other specialties.

Through lectures, hands-on workshops (ex. MSK physical exam practice, ultrasound workshops), and shadowing opportunities students will get a first hand glimpse into the life of a physiatrist and the holistic approach to patient care they take. Students will also be able to learn more about the field through talks. Another goal of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Interest Group is to coordinate a variety of service opportunities including adaptive sports camps and race medicine events.
