Hey UIC students! We're excited that you've RSVP’d for UIC Night at the Museum! Enjoy an inspiring art walk, get creative in a guided painting class, and take on a fun scavenger hunt through the galleries.

📍 Location: Art Institute of Chicago (111 S Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL 60603)

Check-In Details:
Check-in will be available at both the Art Institute of Chicago and the first floor of Student Center East (SCE). Students checking in at the Art Institute can enter through the main entrace near the Lion statues or the Modern Wing entrance at 159 East Monroe Street. Students should bring their iCards for check-in.
 

Event Schedule:

Ongoing Activities (5:00 PM - 8:00 PM):

• UIC Lounge (5:00 PM - 7:45 PM)
  Location: Nichols Trustees Suite (enter through the Modern Wing coat check)
  Enjoy a special art-making activity, light refreshments, and music curated by UIC Radio.

• Art Institute Internship Table (5:00 PM - 7:30 PM)
  Location: Modern Wing Lobby
  Chat with Rachel Echiverri, assistant director of academic engagement, to learn about internship opportunities.

• Scavenger Hunt (5:00 PM - 7:30 PM)
  Location: Various galleries
  Pick up your scavenger hunt guide at a Welcome Table, solve the clues, and return it by 7:30 to win prizes!

• Gallery Activation: New Narratives in American Art (5:30 PM - 6:15 PM)
  Location: Gallery 262
  Join Art Institute lecturer P.D. Young for a discussion on how the museum reimagined their American art galleries.

• Student Art Talks (6:00 PM - 7:00 PM)
  Locations: Various galleries
  Hear UIC students present on works of art:

  • Gallery 216: A Young Lady with a Parrot by Rosalba Carriera (Caterina Benincasa)
  • Gallery 219: Head of Medusa by Antonio Canova (Monica Sagumhay)
  • Gallery 239: Walking Stick-Hammer-Sword-Wheellock Pistol (Maya Clary)
  • Gallery 262: The Rock by Peter Blume (Brooke Raven)
  • Gallery 392: Birth by Marc Chagall (Regina Cuadra Martinez)
  • Gallery 393: Robot by Alexandra Exter (Evan Benson)

• Painting with SAB (5:30 PM - 7:45 PM)
  Location: UIC Lounge
  Get creative in a guided painting session led by the Student Activities Board!

Shuttle Information:
Starting at 4 PM, you can check in at SCE and hop on the free UIC shuttles, running from 4:30 PM to 7 PM. Shuttles will also be available to take you back to campus; The last shuttle returning to SCE will depart from the Modern Wing entrace at 8:30PM. Please note that there are limited shuttles and wait times may be long. Students are also encouraged to ride public transportation or request rideshare services. You may find directions here.

Coat Check:
Free coat check will be available near the Modern Wing entrace.
