Details

The UIC Day of Service is UIC's largest service event, and takes place annually during the month of April. With partners from multiple sites and community organizations across Chicagoland, the day brings together the entire UIC community to give back to Chicago.

Timeline
  • 11:30 am - Check-in at SCE Bowling Alley
  • 11:30-12pm -  Boxed Lunch pick up
  • 12:00 pm - Welcome Address & Kick-off at Bowling Alley by Director of Student Leadership & Civic Engagment
  • 12:30 pm - Board shuttles to go to various service site locations
  • 1-3:30pm - Service Projects at various locations
  • 3:30pm - Board shuttles to head back to SCE

Greater Chicago Food Depository

  2. Description: Repack, sort, inspect and box shipments of produce, bread, or dry goods into smaller quantities.
Maxwell Street Garden 
  1. Address: 1150 W 13th St, Chicago, IL 60608
  2. Description: Gardening, weeding, and ensuring the garden is ready for spring.
Share Our Spare
  1. Address: 3800 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60641
  2. Description: Sort and kit together donated children's essentials or help pack diaper orders.
UCAN
  1. Address: 3605 W Fillmore St, Chicago, IL 60624
  2. Description: Mural painting on canvas panels.

Transportation and food will be provided.
