Content warning for the book and live discussion: This book discusses and provides personal accounts of sexual assault, non-consensual content, racism and misogyny, physical/mental health, body image and gun violence. Should attendees need additional support for topics mentioned particularly in relation to sexual assault, non-consensual content a member of CAN (Confidential, Advocacy-based, and Needs-focused, A program of the UIC Women’s Leadership and Resource Center) will be present for the event and resources will be available.

Kaila Yu
Author
Kaila is an author based in Los Angeles. Her debut memoir, ‘Fetishized: A Reckoning with Yellow Fever, Feminism, and Beauty,’ was published on August 19th, 2025, with Penguin Random House’s Crown Publishing. She is also a luxury travel, food, and culture writer and on-camera correspondent who has written for The Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Conde Nast Traveler, National Geographic, and more.
