Join us for a celebration of shared crip wisdom and knowledge at the DCC Zine Party, featuring the College Survival Guide zine series! Browse the DCC’s collection of zines from disabled students, artists, and activists, check them out from our library, and ask questions!

We are thrilled to have two of the College Survival Guide zine series authors join us to answer any questions, chat, and hang out! Our featured authors are alumni from our Community Care Cohort Internship: CJ (any/all pronouns) and River Sands (they/them).

We will settle in, grab snacks, and browse the DCC’s zine collection together, and starting at 4pm, you can connect with CJ and River and ask questions!

Audience note: This event is open to everyone.

Covid safety information:
UIC does not require masking, but we are still masking indoors as an accessibility measure for chronically ill / immunocompromised folks and those living interdependently with them. Please wear a mask! We’ll have extras on hand. Some people may unmask briefly to eat refreshments, but we’ll have a “no unmasking” area designated to make physical distancing possible.


Access information:
Access info: We will have microphones and autocaptions set up throughout the room. As mingling happens, we will ask folks to practice collective access and check in when further access is needed! The DCC is located on the second floor of BSB and is accessible via elevator. We use fragrance free cleaning supplies in our center, but UIC is not a fragrance free campus. Please skip the cologne or perfume to make this a fragrance reduced environment!
