The Veterans Assistance Commission of Cook County (VACCC) is proud to partner with the University of Illinois at Chicago to ensure their Veteran students can take full advantage of the benefits and services they have earned. Being a student is hard enough, but being a Veteran gives you access to support most of your classmates don’t have. What we can do for you is provide:
• Claims & Benefits Support (GI Bill + VA Benefits): Get help filing and managing VA claims, GI Bill issues, disability compensation, and education-related benefits with our trained and accredited Veteran Service Officers! They’ll ensure your benefits are accurate, active, and supporting your academic success.
• Emergency Financial Services (Stay Enrolled Support): Short-term assistance for rent, utilities, food, or transportation if unexpected financial hardship threatens your ability to stay in school.
• Referral & VSO Assistance (One-Stop Navigation): Connect with accredited and trusted partners for housing, mental health, legal, employment, and healthcare resources especially tailored for Veterans — so you don’t have to navigate multiple systems on your own.
Not sure where to begin? That’s where we come in.
