Registration is now closed (this event already took place).
Details
Participants will register for a time slot and choose one of three challenge levels:
- Remember (30 minutes of sustained activity)
- Respect (45 minutes to climb 110 stories)
- Honor (60 minutes to climb 110 stories while wearing a weighted vest or backpack, symbolizing the gear carried by first responders. Note: weighted vest or backpack not provided).
This event is an opportunity to reflect on the lives lost, recognize the courage and sacrifice of first responders, and commemorate a day that continues to shape our nation.
Why 110 Stories?
The World Trade Center towers each stood 110 stories tall. Completing this symbolic climb honors the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the extraordinary courage of the first responders who answered the call.
Registration is limited due to equipment availability, and advance registration is encouraged. On-site will be accommodated as space remains.
Can't physically participate this year? Consider visiting the UIC Student Veterans Affairs exhibit at the National Veterans Art Museum. The exhibit opening reception is Friday, September 11, at 5:30 pm. For more information about this exhibit, vist:
